Samsung SMT-C7140 programme detail

In August last year I bought a Samsung SMT-C7140 after my 3rd Cisco digital recorder exhibited the same anomalous behaviour as the other two. In general I am pleased by the Samsung product though its inability to do timer recordings is a pain.
However, over the past month or so, it has developed a problem. When I press the guide button I expect to see details of the programmes for the next day or two. However, some channels have no detail and sometimes, no channels have any detail. Over the weekend, there was NO detail on ANY of the Ziggo supplied channels.
Is this a problem with the machine or with my input from Ziggo, please?

I think this problem is firmware related. What firmware are you running on the samsung? (latest version is 579 i believe..) There have been a lot of issues with the Samsung (sound hiccups, timed recordings, etc.)

When I reported the problem to Ziggo, I was advised to reinstall the machine, which installed the 579 firmware. It certainly cured another quibble I had when deleting old recorded programmes, though. So far this is the only real issue with this machine. I am toying with the idea of buying another 7140 and connecting the two together. I did that with the CISCO brute and the Samsung and was able to tape 3 programmes simultaneously. The ability to record 4 programmes simultaneously, which as more channels go digital, might not be a bad idea.

What Nicholas says is correct. This is a firmware issue. Reinstalling the device should solve all recording issues.

Thank you for your input Irwin. Unfortunately, the problem with no program detail is still there. Currently, 13 out of 36 of "My Favourites" have no detail for today and I wouldn't bet a brass sou that tomorrow isn't worse.
I did reinstall the machine when it was suggested but there was no improvement to the detail problem, only to another totally disconnected quibble with the machine.

Hi all,
I have just reinstalled the machine but the problem still persists. Many channels do not have any detail of which programme they are showing. If the various websites for these channels were any good this would not really matter but some of the ones for the channels I watch are useless.

Since reinstalling the Samsung yesterday, first there was no detail, then later all the detail today and tomorrow was there but this morning there was nothing for tomorrow and some of today's detail was missing. Can anyone help, please?
